Laser radar power inspection advantages

Aug 10, 2023

Using LiDAR for line patrol is 40 times more efficient than manual line patrol, which not only reduces labor intensity, but also improves safety. It can find defects and provide information in time to avoid power failure and reduce high power failure costs. Lidar technology, especially airborne Lidar, can not only directly obtain high-density and high-precision three-dimensional point cloud data in the surrounding area of the transmission line, but also evaluate the safety and dynamic changes of the line through later data processing and digital reconstruction of key elements of the line, timely find the fault point and even predict possible security risks. It not only liberates manpower but also improves inspection efficiency.

Case study - Airborne Lidar

Line length:  402.5 km

Ground image resolution: better than 0.3 m

Point cloud density: ≥2 points/m²

The project uses high-precision three-dimensional laser point cloud and high-resolution digital images of power lines collected by liDAR to detect whether the distance between buildings, vegetation and cross-crossing lines meets the specifications, and whether the line spacing meets the requirements of safe operation. The staff can distinguish abnormal conditions along the lines according to the high-precision synchronous images obtained.
