Mount Everest Elevation Measurement in 2020

On the afternoon of April 30, the first press conference of the 2020 Mount Everest elevation measurement was held at the Everest Base Camp, and the 2020 Mount Everest elevation measurement was officially launched.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the first successful summit of Mount Everest from the northern slope, and the 45th anniversary of China's first accurate determination and announcement of the Mount Everest elevation. It is of great historical significance to carry out the Mount Everest elevation measurement.

Airborne gravity measurement is a new method for measuring the height of Mount Everest in 2020. This is the first time that China has carried out a comprehensive survey of airborne gravity and Remote sensing in the Mount Everest region. The accuracy and resolution of the level model is equivalent to improving the accuracy of the Mount Everest measurement.
