The Digital Orthomap (DOM) is a computer-generated image of an aerial photo in which displacement (distortion) caused by terrain relief and camera tilt has been removed, combining the imagery features of a photo with the geometric features of a map. Different from aerial photos, orthophotos have a uniform scale, geometric precision, image features, rich information, intuitive and realistic, strong realism, and good readability and measurability. It can be used as a basemap overlaying other map information, and measurements can be taken directly on the orthophoto just like any other map.
