We won the 2021 National Excellent Surveying and Mapping Project Bronze Award

Congrats! A project called “Acquisition and Processing of Airborne Lidar Data for Guangxi Forest Resources Planning and Design Survey” won the National Excellent Surveying and Mapping Project Bronze Award in 2021 by Feiyan Remote Sensing.

We got the airborne LiDAR data of five cities in Guangxi Province through aerial photography, with a total area of 31,934km² and a point density greater than 2 points/square meter.The ground points and vegetation points were classified according to the requirements of the "Class II Survey", and the classification accuracy rate exceeded 98%.

We used the most advanced VQ-1560i airborne LiDAR equipment at that time to achieve the forestry point cloud data acquisition under difficult meteorological conditions.This method can directly obtain the real tree height, replacing the heavy and dangerous manual field collection work, thereby improving the production efficiency.It provides demonstration experience for the development of similar work in the future, provides new solutions for the annual update survey of forest resources, and provides evidence for the large-scale promotion of airborne lidar forestry applications.

This award is a full affirmation of our work by the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping.We will continue to explore and innovate in the industry, combining ecological governance with surveying and mapping.
